Alafia River State Park
Riders can enjoy a relaxing day of approximately 20 miles of equestrian trails. The horse trails are well marked and wind around lakes, over hills and through wooded areas. The blue trail is a perimeter loop, the white trail runs north and south, the green trail runs east and west, and the yellow trails are island loops. Riders must furnish their own horse. Proof of current Negative Coggins is required. Camping rates are $18.00 a night, plus tax. Daily Equestrian Fees are $6.00 per horse/per day or $14.00 per trailer/per day, plus tax. RV and tent camping is available with horses.

Cary State Forest
Horseback riding is a popular activity on the forest and is allowed on all forest roads as well as a designated eight mile horseback riding trail. The Red Root Trail takes horseback riders through many different forest ecosystems which include: mature longleaf pine stands, immature slash pine stands and deep woods swamp.

Goethe State Forest
The Goethe Trail System extends throughout the forest with access available at three separate trailheads. The forest is open during daylight hours for visitors to enjoy picnicking, hiking, bicycling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding.

Pine Log State Forest
The Old Sawmill trail was developed as a horse trail. The 12.5-mile loop trail follows existing open roads, closed roads and old firebreaks. The trail weaves through the southeast portion of the Pine Log State Forest.

Seminole State Forest

Tram Bed Horse trail is approximately 8 miles long and divided into two loops. The trail is marked with horse shoe emblems on wooden posts at all crossroads. It is largely along scenic back-country roads.

Welaka State Forest
The Sandhill Horse trail was established for equestrian use as well as hiking. All horses must have proof of current negative Coggins Test results when on state lands. Welaka State Forest also manages a 72-horse stable, training arenas and show horse arena, which are all available for rental.
